My Potentia, formerly CFAN (Calgary Fetal Alcohol Network), is a Calgary-based charity dedicated to reducing the incidence of FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), and ensuring individuals and families impacted by FASD can live positive and fulfilling lives within a caring network of support and respect.
What began in 2000
as a grassroots community committee has grown in reach, impact, and vision. Today, we continue to build on that strong foundation by providing direct support, strengthening community knowledge, and advancing how FASD is understood and responded to across Calgary and surrounding areas
Each year, we support
more than 1,000 individuals
impacted by FASD and their caregivers. We support individuals and their families over the lifespan, and through some of their toughest times. Through meaningful relationship-building and collaboration with community agencies and natural support, we empower individuals to pursue client-centered goals that foster healthy outcomes. We support FASD centered capacity-building across all of life’s domains, including housing, financial security, physical and mental health, community connection, and healthy relationships.

FASD IS OUR FOUNDATION
FASD remains our primary focus
and area of expertise. As one of Alberta’s 12 FASD Service Networks, we work closely with community stakeholders and partner agencies to strengthen prevention efforts, assessment and diagnosis pathways, and direct support for individuals and families.
ConnectFASD, a full-spectrum support program across the lifespan. ConnectFASD includes a helpline, system navigation, community events, and an accessible information hub.
As community needs evolve, we are also expanding our work in executive functioning and other Neurodevelopmental Disorders, including ADHD, while remaining firmly rooted in FASD-informed practice.

As CFAN grew,
our vision grew too.
The name My Potentia reflects our belief that every person holds strengths worth nurturing. Rooted in the Latin word potentia, meaning power, ability, and potential, it represents the heart of our work.
